तपस्विनी स्वयंप्रभा - किष्किन्धाकाण्ड (12)

 देवी स्वयंप्रभा 

रामचरितमानस के अनुसार  देवी स्वयंप्रभा मेरूसावर्णि की पुत्री थी जिसका जन्म भगवान् व्रह्मा के आशीर्वाद से हुआ था | जब भगवान् हनुमान अपनी वानर दल के साथ दक्षिण दिशा में माता सीता की खोज में निकले थे तब उनकी भेंट माता स्वम्प्रभा से हुई थी |

 
माता सीता को ढूंढ़ते -ढूंढ़ते जब वानर दल भूंख और प्यास से विचलित थे , तभी उन्हें एक गुफा दिखाई दी | उन्होंने उस गुफा में जाने का निश्चय किया | उस गुफा के अंदर कई प्रकार के मिष्ठान और फल रखे हुए थे | शीतल जल से भरे पात्र थे | इतनी सारी वस्तुएं जिससे वानर दल अपना पेट भर सकते थे | 

 
तभी वहां देवी स्वम्प्रभा प्रकट हुई और उन्होंने अपना परिचय दिया तथा अपने राज्यमहल और दानव राज मई के बारे में बताया और बताया की कैसे दानव राज मई के वध के पश्चात इस सुन्दर वन की रक्षा का भार उन्हें सौपा गया | 

यह सब जानने के पश्चात जामवंत ने अपना तथा वानर दल का परिचय दिया और यहाँ आने का कारन बताया | यह सुनकर माता ने वानर दल को वहाँ भोजन करने की अनुमति दे दी | इसके पश्चात् माता स्वम्प्रभा ने वानर दल की सहायता करने की सोची और उन सब को समुद्र तट पर पहुंचा दिया | इसके पश्चात् माता बद्रिक आसरम की और प्रस्थान कर  गयी |  

स्वम्प्रभा जो की स्वम एक गन्धर्व की पुत्री थी , उन्होंने अपने तप से श्रीराम को प्रसन्न किया था तथा वरदान सवरूप श्रीराम की भक्ति तथा मोक्ष की कामना की थी |

Devi Swayamprabha


According to Ramcharitmanas, Goddess Swayamprabha was the daughter of Merusavarni who was born with the blessings of Lord Brahma. When Lord Hanuman with his monkey group went out in search of Mother Sita in the south direction, then he met Mother Swamprabha.

 
While searching for Mother Sita, when the group of monkeys were disturbed by hunger and thirst, then they saw a cave. He decided to go to that cave. Many types of sweets and fruits were kept inside that cave. There were vessels filled with cold water. So many things with which the group of monkeys could fill their stomach.

 
Then Goddess Swamprabha appeared there and she introduced herself and told about her palace and the demon Raj May and told how after the slaying of the demon Raj May, she was entrusted with the task of protecting this beautiful forest.


After knowing all this, Jamwant introduced himself and the group of monkeys and told the reason for coming here. Hearing this, the mother allowed the monkey group to have food there. After this Mata Swamprabha thought of helping the monkey group and took them all to the beach. After this Mata Badrik went towards Asaram's departure.



Swamprabha, who was the daughter of a Gandharva, had pleased Shri Ram with her penance and as a boon had wished for the devotion and salvation of Shri Ram.
